For 45 years, Master Boat Builders has delivered high-quality vessels worldwide, growing from a father- and-son startup to nearly 300 employees. To support continued growth, the company aimed to hire 80–150 new employees within 8–10 months.
Hummingbird Ideas created a recruitment campaign highlighting the company’s culture, leadership, and pride in craftsmanship. The tagline—“Hardworking Boats. Hardworking People.”—anchored messaging that celebrated teamwork and skill. A new homepage design, video, and photo shoot showcased real employees and operations.
Campaign assets included a corporate video, a :30-second ad, and placements across streaming TV, digital radio, social media, programmatic display, retargeting, and local digital billboards. Ads strategically targeted workers from competing shipyards and maritime training centers.
Within four months of launching, Master Boat Builders hired 109 new employees—36% above the goal and halfway through the campaign term. This success underscores the impact of authentic employer branding and targeted media in driving workforce growth.
